Lith film is a shortened version of paper lith, you have mostly the same chemicals, except there is no old brown added to the lith chemical. The paper to start is somewhat grey and very light sensitive; it turns into a transparent photo once it has gone through the fix. I prefer this process and affect more than the photo lith.
This process was a layering of transparencies on top of regular printed picture.
This process was a lith film placed on top of a photo that also has a thin layer of fabric on it.
This is the lith paper process which is similar to the film lith but has an added old brown chemical, this process takes longer to develop but comes out with a lot of contrast. The fiber based paper takes longer and comes out more white and cream. The RC paper developed little it faster and came with a yellow/sepia tone. I liked both papers, but it depends on your subject and how you want the color to come out.
The hand tinting was really fun to do because i enjoy painting. I really like the color schemes in both my photos and overall it was an easy process with just the right amount of challenges. You have to know that you can't layer and put too much paint on the paper because you'll lose the details in the photo. It was hard painting the parts that were blurry because you didn't just want them too be colored blobs, but you also didn't want them to take the focus away from the main point.

Transparency of marriage vows
This piece is a black canvas with assorted pieces of broken glass, with color and black and white photos placed all along. The two people involved are a man and women in both color and black and white, four people in total. Each women in the relationship is someone abused, both women have black eyes, but portrayed differently either smiling or crying. In each picture showing the man he is a tall figure, standing in the back or by the side still appearing menacing and in charge. The camera angles are from the side or from the front. In most pictures the subject is up close except for about two making the couple seem normal, but when you take a closer look they are different. The black background has a great value over the reflective, light mirror pieces. The broken pieces of glass with the clean cut create a visible line and each picture is cut a different way creating sharp lines. In stead of having lots of blank black spaces, I used crushed pieces of glass to create a different texture in places that have no photos or big pieces of glass. Space is still created between every mirror piece. Balance is being shown with where mirror pieces of placed and with the spread of the small pieces. Major contrast is here with the dark black background, light mirrors, and the color photographs. Emphasis to the main topic of broken marriage and promises by the use of marriage vows on the broken glass, the vows are not perfectly placed and are somewhat thrown on there. The vows also help with the movement of how to look through the piece, because almost everyone knows the order of marriage vows. Repetition is with the large pieces and class alone with proportion, almost all of the larger broken pieces are the same size. With the pieces coming together and the pictures binding some it creates a sense of unity and pattern. My interpretation is that the mirror is being forced together, like the marriage. The mirror is broken is trying to be fixed but cant like it was before. Like the mirror, the marriage was broken with abuse and can not be fixed. You know it is marriage because of the marriage vows on some corresponding mirror pieces. I got the comment of maybe making some mirrors clouded because it was very bright and distracting. I agreed and took modge podge and put it on the mirror, some pieces are still reflective and for the reason being, if you are in a situation of abuse you need to find a way out of the broken mirror.
Despite the difference in both pictures they do have lots of similarities, including the theme. The message being sent is there will be one winner, and humans keep building structures destroying nature and you must choose a side. In the first group of pictures (Nature vs. Humans) it shows both sides. In one of the photos it shows the female overcome with trees, she choose nature. In the other one it shows the girl with bricks layered on top, she choose humans. In the multiple exposure (Taking control) it is almost the outcome of choosing humans, you will have very little nature and lots of buildings and structures taking over. Both pictures have a high contrast and unity. They also both contain some patterns of bricks, the first is layered with all bricks over the girl, and the second has a pattern of bricks on half of the picture. The first picture has a bird’s eye view and a low depth of field, unlike the second which has a straight forward angle and high depth of field. While the first shows the emphasis on both nature and humans, the second doesn’t and only shows emphasis on humans. Movement plays a key role in the first picture, the tree branches move your eyes around to notice the girl, same with the layering of the bricks on the girl, but the second image doesn’t have much movement, only about halfway. Some weaknesses are the fact the message is hard to come out in the second picture, and how it is hard to see the girl with the trees layering over top of the girl. All though layering does come out could in both pictures with the bricks.
Project 1: I used the dark room and the photogram process to make a texture and shapes for objects including the necklace, ring, perfume bottle, and the fabric. When using photoshop I scanned, the military pin, necklace pendant, and perfume bottle top and added them on their corresponding objects. I choose this quote "Not being heard is no reason for silence" because it represents not only being bold and being yourself in many different ways (what you wear, how you talk, how you act) but it also represents how in history nothing would have happened or changed if people did not rebel against the leading groups changing our lives and future forever. I added the inverse of the photo to bold and have a different view of the items. The flowers can represent two things, while some people think they might just be there to be pretty they're not, they can represent beauty but also something that will fade and but the idea of the flowers coming back is like history, it makes an event, all though the event will leave the effect of the event will stay forever.
